I looked through the actual article your link is citing (D Zia, N Dehghan, A D’Errico, F Sciarrino & E Karimi, Interferometric imaging of amplitude and phase of spatial biphoton states, Nature Photonics (2023)) and the original source doesn't say the wavefunction of entangled photons is reminiscent of a Yin-Yang symbol. That particular image of a Yin-Yang symbol is Figure 6 in the article and it describes a possible application of biphoton digital holography: carrying the information about an image imprinted on the laser beam they used in their set-up, and its retrieval. FYI the appearance of the symbol is not unexpected, they specifically projected the yin-yang image for this test.

If you read the actual paper it is explained that, in testing information reconstruction from biphoton states, the researchers encoded the Yin-Yang symbol onto the pump beam photons superimposed with reference photons. The superposition of these waveforms was then split into photon pairs which, after being separated, were sent onto a single photon sensor array. What you are seeing is the information encoded with the unknown waveform state (phase and amplitude), in this specific case the Yin-Yang symbol, successfully reconstructed after superposition with a known source is split into a biphoton state and separately imaged.
