Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Lenz (“we”, “us”, or “our”) at lenz.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
Description of Service
Lenz is a verification service that uses AI (specifically, multiple large language models) to analyse claims. The results are generated automatically and are intended for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional, legal, medical, financial, or any other form of expert advice. You should always exercise your own critical thinking and consult qualified professionals where appropriate.
Account Registration
To use certain features of the service you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- Submit content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, or otherwise objectionable
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access or extract data from the service without our prior written consent
- Misrepresent AI-generated results as your own original analysis or as professional advice
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the integrity or security of the service
- Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or other technical measures we implement
Intellectual Property
The service, including its design, software, branding, and all AI-generated analysis content, is owned by Lenz and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the claim text you submit. By submitting a claim, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to process, analyse, and display the claim and its results as part of the service.
Claim Visibility & Deletion
All claims you submit are visible only to you by default (“Private Only”). You control the visibility of each claim and can change it at any time:
- Private Only — the claim is visible only to you (or, for anonymous users, only within the same browser session).
- Shareable — anyone who knows the claim URL can view it, but it is not listed publicly or reviewed by our editorial team.
- Public — you give your permission for our editorial team to review the claim verification and potentially publish it for the community. Only claims you mark as Public are visible to our editors for review.
You can permanently delete any claim you created at any time. Deletion is irreversible — the claim text, analysis, and all associated data are removed from our systems.
If “Show my name on claims” is enabled in your profile settings, your display name may appear on claim pages, annotations, challenges, and community leaderboards. You can disable this at any time in your profile settings.
Editorial Policy
Our editorial team reviews only claim verifications that users have explicitly marked as Public and decides, at its sole discretion, which to publish. A “Reviewed” mark on a claim page indicates editorial review — it is not a guarantee of accuracy. Lenz and its editors accept no liability for any errors, omissions, or consequences arising from reliance on any claim verification, whether editorially reviewed or not.
All analyses are produced entirely by our automated AI systems and published exactly as generated — editors never modify them. Editors may, however, delete any analysis at their discretion, for example where technical issues during generation may have compromised its quality. Analyses may also be periodically re-generated to incorporate newly available primary sources or improvements in the underlying AI models. When a report is re-generated, the previous version is replaced in full.
Every claim page provides full transparency: all sources consulted, reasoning, methodology, and the key output of each step in the analysis are available so you can independently verify any conclusion.
Plans, Subscriptions & Payments
Lenz is offered under three plans:
- Free — 20 claim verifications per month at no charge. Your monthly quota resets on the first day of each calendar month.
- Plus — 200 claim verifications per month for $7.99/month (billed monthly). Your quota resets on each billing anniversary.
- Pro — 2,000 claim verifications per month for $99/month (billed monthly) or $999/year (billed annually). Designed for researchers and professionals. Your quota resets on each billing anniversary.
You may also purchase one-off top-up packs of 25 additional claim verifications for a one-time payment of $2.99. Top-up verifications are used after your monthly quota is exhausted and do not expire.
All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing or purchasing a top-up, you agree to pay the applicable fees and authorise us to charge your chosen payment method. Plus and Pro subscriptions renew automatically on your billing cycle; you may cancel at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. Upgrade and downgrade between Plus and Pro is available at any time through the billing portal.
Referral Programme
Lenz operates a referral programme that allows registered users to invite others to the service and earn bonus claim verifications.
- Eligibility — requires a verified Lenz account.
- Rewards — both referrer and referee receive 20 extra claim verifications (added on top of monthly quota) when the referee verifies their email, and 200 extra claim verifications if the referee purchases a paid subscription.
- Lifetime cap — referral rewards for referrers are capped at 100 referred people. Claim verifications received as a referee are not capped.
- No cash value — claim verifications apply to verification quota only and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.
- One referral per account — each account may be referred once; self-referrals are not permitted.
- Abuse — we may revoke claim verifications and suspend accounts for fraud, fake sign-ups, or other manipulation of the programme.
- Changes — we may alter reward amounts or discontinue the programme at any time. Claim verifications already granted remain valid unless forfeited under the abuse clause.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the AI-generated results are accurate, complete, reliable, or error-free. Verification analyses are produced by automated systems and may contain mistakes or omissions. You acknowledge that reliance on any results is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lenz and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. This includes, without limitation, damages resulting from decisions made based on AI-generated results, loss of data, or service interruptions. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the service at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Use or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
