False 2/10
“Library of Congress authority records identify Brigitte Macron as female.”
The cited Library of Congress authority record does not explicitly classify Brigitte Macron as female. It describes her as Emmanuel Macron’s “wife,” but contains no formal gender designation; explicit female values found in Wikidata or other authority systems are not Library of Congress assertions. Cataloging guidance also discourages recording gender in personal-name authority records.

“Brigitte Macron is a man.”
Reliable records and independent reporting identify Brigitte Macron as a woman. The allegation stems from a repeatedly debunked conspiracy theory that conflates her with her brother, Jean-Michel Trogneux. A French appellate ruling sometimes cited in support of the rumor concerned defamation law and did not determine her sex or affirm that she was born male.
