“March 2026 was the warmest March on record in the United States.”

NOAA data and multiple independent news sources confirm that March 2026 shattered temperature records, with an anomaly of 9.4°F above the 20th-century average — the largest for any month in over 130 years of records. The record applies specifically to the contiguous United States (Lower 48), which is NOAA's standard framework for national climate reporting. While the claim's phrasing of "the United States" aligns with how this record is conventionally described, it technically omits the distinction that Alaska and Hawaii are not included in the dataset.

“The year 2025 had the highest global average temperature ever recorded in human history.”

The claim is false. Every major climate authority — WMO, NASA, Copernicus/ECMWF, Met Office, and NOAA — confirms that 2024, not 2025, holds the record for the highest global average temperature. WMO's consolidation of eight independent datasets ranked 2025 as second in two datasets and third in six, with none ranking it first. The year 2025 was among the warmest on record, but it did not set the all-time record.

“Human activity is the primary driver of observed climate change since the mid-20th century.”

This claim is true. The world's leading scientific institutions — including the IPCC, NASA, NOAA, and the National Academies — independently confirm that human greenhouse gas emissions are the primary driver of observed warming since the mid-20th century. Quantitative attribution studies show human activity caused approximately 1.07°C of warming, while natural factors (solar, volcanic) contributed only –0.1°C to +0.1°C. A small number of low-authority dissenting sources exist but provide no peer-reviewed evidence that overturns this conclusion.
