False 1/10
“An annual income of $381,000 in 2026 is required to have the same purchasing power as a U.S. minimum-wage worker in 1971.”
Authoritative records show the 1971 federal minimum wage was $1.60 per hour, about $3,328 annually for 2,080 hours. Reaching $381,000 would require an unsupported 114-fold adjustment, far beyond standard consumer-price inflation. A gold-price comparison involving a different wage and year does not establish equivalent general purchasing power.

Mixed 5/10
“The federal minimum wage in the United States has not kept pace with productivity growth since its inception.”
The claim conflates wage adequacy with productivity growth. Sources show the minimum wage has declined relative to median wages and lost inflation-adjusted value, but neither directly compares minimum wage growth to actual productivity growth rates. The proponent's assumption that median wages track productivity is unsupported by the evidence provided.
