“Zohran Kwame Mamdani supports transforming New York City into an Islamic state.”

No credible evidence shows that Mamdani supports turning New York City into an Islamic state. Independent reporting and fact-checks describe the allegation as fabricated or baseless, while his public statements reject religious hierarchies and support pluralistic representation. Contrary assertions rely on partisan commentary, political accusations, and guilt by association rather than a documented policy position.

“The administration of New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani secured $7.6 billion in New York State aid for New York City through a partnership with New York Governor Kathy Hochul.”

The evidence supports the core point that New York City received a very large state aid package after coordinated action by Mayor Mamdani and Governor Hochul. Credible reporting puts that support at about $7.6 billion, while primary official statements usually describe it as nearly $8 billion. The main caveat is that state legislative leaders were also central to the package, so the claim slightly oversimplifies who secured it.

“As a New York City mayoral candidate, Zohran Mamdani proposed allocating $122 million for New York City Public Schools in his campaign budget plan.”

The evidence does not support the claim as stated. Reliable reporting and official New York City budget documents tie the $122 million schools figure to Mamdani’s FY2027 executive budget as mayor, not to a campaign budget plan proposed while he was a candidate. That timing and context are the core of the claim, and they are wrong.
