“People of Asian ancestry cannot metabolize alcohol.”

Alcohol metabolism is not categorically absent among people of Asian ancestry. A common variant in some East Asian populations reduces the breakdown of acetaldehyde, causing flushing and other effects, but many East Asians do not carry it, and carriers still metabolize ethanol. The statement wrongly applies a variable genetic trait to an entire ancestry group and mischaracterizes impaired metabolism as complete inability.

“Most of Europe and Asia lie on the Eurasian Plate.”

Geological evidence supports the stated continental coverage. The Eurasian Plate underlies nearly all of Europe and most of Asia, while areas such as the Indian subcontinent, Arabian Peninsula, and parts of far eastern Asia belong to other plates. The absence of a precise area percentage is a minor limitation.

“The National Aeronautics and Space Administration confirmed that Earth will experience 15 consecutive days of total darkness in November 2026.”

NASA has not confirmed any planet-wide period of darkness in November 2026. The story recycles a repeatedly debunked hoax, and NASA’s official 2026 astronomy information lists only ordinary November events. No credible evidence supports either the alleged 15-day phenomenon or its attribution to NASA.

“Natural diamonds crystallize from carbon at depths of about 150 to 200 kilometers in Earth's mantle under temperatures of about 900 to 1,300 degrees Celsius and pressures of 45 to 60 kilobars, then reach Earth's surface through deep volcanic eruptions after remaining underground for hundreds of millions of years.”

The description accurately captures the usual formation and transport history of lithospheric gem diamonds. Its depth, temperature, and pressure ranges are representative, and kimberlitic volcanism commonly carries diamonds rapidly to the surface after long mantle residence. However, these conditions and timescales do not apply to every natural diamond, particularly superdeep and some relatively young fibrous diamonds.

“Cosmic radiation exposure on a commercial flight increases as the aircraft flies closer to Earth's magnetic poles.”

Commercial-flight radiation exposure generally rises toward Earth’s magnetic poles because geomagnetic shielding becomes weaker at higher magnetic latitudes. Multiple authoritative and peer-reviewed sources support this relationship. At the highest latitudes, exposure may plateau rather than continue increasing without limit.

“For the 2026 tax year, the maximum annual contribution by a self-employed person in Israel to a Keren Hishtalmut for which investment returns can qualify for a capital-gains-tax exemption is ILS 20,566.”

Reliable 2026 sources consistently identify ILS 20,566 as the annual self-employed Keren Hishtalmut contribution ceiling whose investment returns can qualify for exemption from capital-gains tax. Conflicting figures largely concern a different income-tax deduction limit or appear in isolated lower-quality sources. The exemption remains subject to statutory holding-period and withdrawal conditions.

“The Sun rises in the east.”

The standard astronomical description is accurate: Earth’s rotation makes the Sun appear to rise along the eastern horizon. Its exact position shifts northeast or southeast with season and latitude, and it rises precisely due east only around the equinoxes, but those variations do not contradict the ordinary wording.

“Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”

The available evidence substantially supports the genocide characterization. An independent UN commission found that Israeli authorities committed genocidal acts in Gaza with the legally required intent, and human-rights reporting supports key aspects of that assessment. However, this remains a contested legal conclusion rather than a final ICJ merits judgment, so it should not be presented as judicially settled.

“The State of Israel prohibits independent foreign journalists from entering the Gaza Strip.”

Israel prohibits foreign journalists from entering Gaza independently. Numerous international and Israeli sources confirm that selected reporters have entered only through tightly controlled, military-escorted visits, which do not provide independent access. Israeli officials have publicly defended the continuing restriction on security grounds.

“The Dead Sea is the lowest point on Earth's land surface.”

Standard geographic sources identify the Dead Sea as the lowest point on Earth’s land surface. The only significant caveat is that some subglacial bedrock in Antarctica lies far lower, but that is not normally counted as land surface. The Dead Sea’s exact elevation changes over time, but the claim’s core meaning is correct.

“Israel proposed a pilot program to allow Palestinians from the West Bank to fly abroad via Ramon Airport near Eilat on charter flights to Turkey, instead of traveling via the Allenby Bridge crossing to Jordan and flying from Amman.”

Contemporaneous reporting shows Israeli authorities did announce a pilot program for West Bank Palestinians to fly abroad from Ramon Airport on charter flights to Turkey instead of traveling through Jordan and Amman. The claim is carefully worded as a proposal, which matches the evidence. Later delays and route changes affected implementation, not the fact that the plan was proposed.

“At least 10% of pilots believe that the Earth is flat.”

The evidence does not support the claim that at least 10% of pilots believe the Earth is flat. The commonly cited 10% figure refers to the general public, not pilots, and no reliable pilot-specific survey was provided. Sources discussing pilots indicate that their training and operational practice are based on Earth’s sphericity, making flat-Earth belief among pilots a fringe view, not a documented 10%+ share.

“The government of Israel has stated that it is preparing for war with Iran, Turkey, Egypt, and Syria.”

The evidence shows official Israeli war-readiness statements focused on Iran, not a declared four-country posture. Some reporting describes northern-front preparations involving Syria and contingency discussion about Turkey, but credible sources do not show the government stating it is preparing for war with Turkey or Egypt. Egypt, especially, rests on speculative commentary rather than official policy.

“The family of 9/11 hijacker Ziad Samir Jarrah has been confirmed to be Israeli spies.”

The evidence does not support the broad claim. Reliable sources confirm that two extended relatives of Ziad Jarrah were involved in espionage for Israel, but they do not show that his family as a whole was "confirmed to be Israeli spies." They also do not establish a link between those relatives’ spying and Ziad Jarrah, his immediate family, or the 9/11 attacks.

“More than 100 Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives voted to block billions of dollars in U.S. military aid to Israel, but the effort was unsuccessful.”

The claim matches the reported House vote. Multiple major outlets reported that 103 Democrats voted for a failed amendment to block $3.3 billion in military aid to Israel, so the count, the scale of aid, and the unsuccessful outcome are all supported. The only caution is to distinguish this vote from other Israel-aid votes in different years or in the Senate.

“There are more than 20 active volcanoes in the world.”

Authoritative volcanology sources place the number well above 20 under any standard meaning of “active volcano.” Global Volcanism Program data show roughly 40–50 volcanoes in continuing eruption, and USGS-style broader counts of active or potentially active volcanoes are in the thousands. The claim is therefore clearly supported.

“Israel is not occupying the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.”

The claim is not supported by the evidence. Authoritative legal and institutional sources, including the ICJ and ICRC, treat the West Bank as occupied and conclude that Gaza also remains occupied for legal purposes because Israel retains decisive forms of effective control despite the 2005 withdrawal. Denying occupation of both territories conflicts with the current mainstream international legal assessment.

“The Earth is not a perfect sphere.”

Earth is measurably wider at the equator than from pole to pole, so it is not a perfect sphere. Authoritative geodesy sources describe it as an oblate spheroid or ellipsoid, and the real physical surface is even more irregular when modeled as the geoid. The small size of the deviation does not change the conclusion.

“The International Court of Justice issued provisional measures in the case South Africa v. Israel concerning alleged violations of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide related to Gaza.”

Official ICJ orders show the Court did issue provisional measures in South Africa v. Israel concerning alleged violations of the Genocide Convention related to Gaza. The claim matches the Court’s own wording. The important limitation is that these were interim measures, not a final ruling on whether genocide occurred.

“During the Middle Ages, scholars thought the Earth was round.”

Historical evidence shows medieval scholars generally regarded Earth as spherical. Primary texts and standard scholastic teaching support that conclusion, especially in Latin Christian and university contexts. The common idea that medieval thinkers believed in a flat Earth is largely a later myth and often confuses popular belief with learned scholarship.
