“U.S. Army Lieutenant General John R. Vines was asked to review the method for tracking the U.S. Department of Defense's most sensitive programs, and he stated that he was not aware of any agency with the authority, responsibility, or a process in place to coordinate all the interagency and commercial activities involved.”

The evidence shows Vines was tasked to review how the Defense Department tracked highly sensitive programs and was quoted saying no agency had the authority, responsibility, or process to coordinate all related interagency and commercial activities. Multiple independent, high-reliability outlets corroborate both points. Minor wording differences and later policy changes do not materially alter this historical fact.

“In the early history of the United States, United States Army leadership deliberately used smallpox as a biological weapon against Indigenous peoples in North America by distributing smallpox-contaminated items to them.”

The documented smallpox-blanket episode occurred in 1763 at Fort Pitt under British colonial officers, before the United States existed and before there was a U.S. Army. Evidence does support deliberate biological warfare by British commanders in that case. It does not support the claim that U.S. Army leadership carried out the same act in early U.S. history.

“The U.S. Army raised the maximum enlistment age to 42 for all recruits as of March 2026.”

This claim is misleading. While the U.S. Army did update Army Regulation 601-210 in March 2026 to set a new maximum enlistment age of 42, multiple credible sources confirm the policy does not take effect until April 20, 2026. Stating the age was raised "as of March 2026" conflates the announcement with implementation — a distinction that materially affects whether older applicants could actually enlist during that month.
