“Bill Gates intends to cause the end of the world by releasing mosquitoes from the World Mosquito Program production facility in Medellín, Colombia.”

The allegation is wholly unsupported. Independent fact-checks, peer-reviewed studies, and program records show that the Medellín facility releases mosquitoes carrying Wolbachia to reduce dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases. The World Mosquito Program operates the initiative; Gates-linked philanthropy helped fund it, but no credible evidence indicates that Bill Gates controls the releases or intends catastrophic harm.

“A video about 'Brain Honey' was produced by Bill Gates.”

No credible reporting shows Bill Gates produced any video promoting “Brain Honey.” Multiple independent fact-checkers state the circulating clips are AI deepfakes created by scammers, with Gates having no connection to the product or its marketing. The claim therefore lacks factual support.

“Bill Gates is funding or supporting solar geoengineering experiments that are intended to influence or control rainfall.”

Bill Gates did fund solar geoengineering research, including Harvard's SCoPEx project and earlier cloud-whitening concepts. This is well-documented by credible outlets. However, these experiments were designed to study solar radiation management for global cooling and model refinement — not to control rainfall. Altered precipitation patterns are a recognized potential side effect, not the stated goal. SCoPEx was canceled in March 2024. The claim conflates a foreseeable risk with deliberate intent, making it a partial truth wrapped in a distorting frame.

“Bill Gates personally donated $50 million to Terrana Biosciences to support the development of RNA-modified crops.”

This claim is false. The $50 million invested in Terrana Biosciences came from Flagship Pioneering, a biotech venture firm — not from Bill Gates personally or the Gates Foundation. The Gates Foundation's own grants database shows no funding to Terrana. Snopes investigated this exact rumor and found no evidence of a Gates connection, and Flagship Pioneering's spokesperson explicitly denied it. The claim originated from unsourced social media posts that misattributed the funding source.
